Well the story starts at 11:00 PM oct 3rd. 2004. Funny it was my birthday.. Me and four other friends decided to make a trip out to Bachelors grove for an innocent night of harmless exploring. we had one friend of our friends drop us off at the path entrance just off the Turnpike. She drove of as we all ran into the woods and site down to gather our breath and to regroup. Little did we know that officer friendly was chillin in the woods right off the beaten path... Well we got about 20 yards down the path before we all turned around and saw a figure standng there, yea you can imagine what happened next. Who would know that a half destroyed cemetary in a forest preserve would be FEDERAL PROPERTY that was protected. That ment that officer friendly could issue each of us 1000.oo tickets. But no, he decided to cut us a little break because we didn't have any drugs or weapons on us. Instead we got $50 tresspasing tickets for being in the forest preserve after dark. Well hopefuly this will get posted for ALL to read for the cop explained how he will be in the grove everynight for all of oct.. So if you are planning on going anytime for a little halloween fun, plan on spending $50 and a trip to a court house, and they whonder Y the the court system is over crouded. Stupid COOK CO. Please heed my warning, for I did see the cops ticket books with the carbon copies of the tickets he had written just in that night thanx Steve
My friends and I went to Bachelors Grove to check it out last night (October 27th). We met some people from the town who advised us to go in through the back forest near the Gaelic Center where we parked. We started in through the forest but stopped because our cars got locked in the gate. The police were at the front gate to cemetery... is there anytime during the year when the police activity is lower and we can get into the cemetery. Also, how expensive were the tickets and are the police harsher around Halloween time? (Different person) Steve
